FROM HERE TO THERE: THE SEARCH FOR EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE
This talk focuses on understanding the Stars, the science behind planet searches, and the search for life in not only our Solar System, but around other stars. We start off by seeing how life on Earth was seeded with the building blocks of life while on its own generating them through natural processes. Next, we venture into the Solar System to explore places where we have found water, necessary for life as we know it, and see what the latest science tells us.
We then leap to the stars, and look at the different types of stars, discovering which stars can support planets and possibly life. Then we explore the planet hunting capabilities we have honed over the years and follow up with a discussion of the latest exoplanet finds and discuss our future prospects as well as some puzzling finds such as Tabby’s Star.
BIO
Marc D'Antonio has a degree in Astronomy and is the chief photo and video analyst for the History Channel television series “The Proof is Out There”. Marc is also the Mutual UFO Network’s (MUFON) Chief Photo and Video Analyst and head of the Photo Analysis team for MUFON. He is the host of SkyTour Radio on KGRA and creator, and CEO of the popular SkyTour LiveStream with Marc Dantonio. SkyTour Livestream, or STLS, is a group of LIVE deep sky Telescope observatories around the USA that broadcast live on YouTubeand other social media. People watch and enjoy STLS on clear nights to see the Universe LIVE in real time in seconds courtesy of the SkyTour LiveStream Remote Observatories and their research telescopes. Astronomer Marc takes them through the genesis of these objects and discusses the Universe in entertaining and engaging ways! Finally, ALL of the photos taken during the STLS session are available to viewers for download for free.
Marc is also a consummate performer and no stranger to the stage. Entertaining and engaging, every talk, Skywatch, or SkyTour LiveStream LIVE Universe show is incredibly intriguing! Marc has an extensive work history in television, discussing and investigating extraterrestrial life, appearing regularly on networks such as History, Discovery, Discovery Plus, Netflix, TLC, CNN, and more. He has also appeared on several seasons of NASA’s Unexplained Files, What on Earth, and Unexplained with William Shatner. Currently, he regularly appears on History Channel’s The Proof is Out There as their chief photo and video analyst.
Marc is also the CEO of FX Models, a model making and visual/special effects company specializing in digital and physical models, and organic visual effects in the film industry.
